LIP TIPS - THE SECRET TO YOUTHFUL LIPS

For the busy everyday woman, an important consideration in applying makeup is speed—and of course a successful result. The two predominant areas of the your face which other people are attracted to almost immediately are the eyes and mouth.

As we age our lip colour and contour tends to fade and the appearance of vertical lines forming through the lip line plays havoc with your lipstick. Redefining your lips with a pencil will effectively give the impression of bringing your lips forward. This will automatically detract from any lines, wrinkles and other so called facial imperfections, making you look younger and also stop your lipstick feathering and bleeding.

Firstly, decide which side of your lips you like the best (usually the fuller side), and with a sharp pencil, outline this part of the Cupid’s bow.  Many of you will find you have either a lopsided Cupid’s bow or none to speak of.

Next step is to match the other side, even if it means straightening it up to look like your best side.  Now line the centre of your bottom lip, to give balance.

You can then take the pencil around the entire lips to outline.

Once completed take the pencil and, smudging to create a softer definer outline, lightly colour in the entire lips—this will act as a base for longer lasting lipstick.  Now you are ready to apply your lipstick or gloss.
