What is mineral makeup?

There's alot of hype surrounding mineral makeup at the moment.  Every magazine that we pick up seems to have an article on this topic.  We are constantly being asked "does Natural Compatibles contain minerals?"

The answer is definitely YES.  Natural Compatibles products have always been formulated with minerals and ingredients such as:

  • Titanium dioxide -     (the most effective natural
  • Zinc oxide -                  sunblock ingredients available)
  • Iron oxide - red, yellow, black, green brown
  • Ultra marines - violet, blue, pink
  • Carmine
  • Sericite
  • Mica
  • Vitamin E (tocopherol)
  • Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate)
  • Moisture enriching oils - lavender, avocado, sweet almond, evening primrose.
  • Aloe vera and chamomile

Natural Compatibles products also contain:

Talc - A mineral (yes, talc is a mineral).  This is the major ingredient used by all top cosmetic houses in the world.  Natural Compatibles talc comes from Japan and is of the finest quality allowing a silky, smooth application.

Parabens - The most widely used group of cosmetic preservatives in the world.  Natural Compatibles uses Parabens in its products as we believe they are extremely effective in all types of formulas.

Not only are Parabens used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals but also used as food additives.  You may not think of them as an essential part of your cosmetics but without question skin care and cosmetics products need preservatives.

As you know we women keep some of our makeup products for years and don't clean our brushes each time we use our makeup.  Without these preservatives everyday items would become overloaded with bacteria, mold and fungus, making them harmful to skin, eyes and mucous membranes.  How long have you and your clients had some of your eyeshadows and loose powder?  This is why it is essential that we use a reliable preservative.

Some makeup manufacturers choose to use natural preservatives such as essential oil in their products.  Essential oils are unable to match the efficacy of chemical preservatives such as Parabens.  Natural Compatibles will continue to use Parabens as they are amongst the gentlest know preservatives with the longest proven safety record.

Micro-testing by independent laboratory

Natural Compatibles users can be reassured that all our products are of the highest quality.  Every batch of eyeshadow, blush, foundation and mascara produced is sent to an independent laboratory for micro-testing.  This testing ensures our product is free from any form of contamination and that our preservatives work efficiently.  We then receive a Certificate of Analysis for each batch.  As a cosmetic manufacturer we are not required to conduct tests on our products but we do so because we believe in offering you and your clients the highest quality product available.

MYTH:  Products that are 'all natural' are better for the skin

FACT:  The term 'all natural' is actually just a marketing term - no product that you buy for your skin is likely to be 100% 'natural' - and what does that term mean, anyway?  Each cosmetic company has its own interpretation of 'all natural' and will use it to sell its product.  In any case, there is no scientific evidence that products derived from natural sources are any better for your skin than products derived from man-made substances.
